Terms of Service
Effective Date & Last Updated: August 21, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms & Overview
Welcome to EVENTO ("Platform", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between EVENTO and you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("User", "Volunteer", "Organizer", or "you").
By downloading, accessing, browsing, registering an account on the EVENTO mobile applications or website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with all of these terms, you are expressly prohibited from using the Platform and must discontinue use immediately.
2. Intermediary Status & Independent Engagement
2.1 Technology Intermediary: EVENTO operates purely as a two-sided digital marketplace and technology platform that facilitates discovery and communication between independent Event Organizers (who post temporary staffing requirements) and Volunteers / Gig Participants (who apply to assist at events). EVENTO qualifies as an "Intermediary" under Section 2(1)(w) and is protected by the safe harbor provisions under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India).
2.2 No Employment Relationship: In accordance with the Code on Social Security, 2020, Volunteers engage as independent participants or freelance gig workers. Nothing in these Terms or through the use of the Platform creates an employer-employee, agency, joint venture, franchisor-franchisee, or partnership relationship between EVENTO and any User, or between Organizers and Volunteers.
3. User Eligibility & Account Registration
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to register and enter into binding agreements. By using EVENTO, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years or older.
- Account Accuracy: Users must register using an authentic, active mobile phone number (verified via OTP), accurate full name, email address, and genuine profile details.
- Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
- Single Identity: Creating multiple duplicate accounts, providing forged credentials, or registering alternate accounts to circumvent low reliability scores or suspensions is strictly prohibited.
4. Event Listings & Organizer Obligations
Event Organizers posting volunteer requirements on EVENTO agree to the following obligations:
- Accuracy of Listings: Organizers must provide accurate, complete, and truthful event details, including event title, venue address, start and end dates/times, role descriptions, dress codes, meal provisions, and compensation/stipend amounts per slot.
- Bona Fide Slot Criteria: Organizers may define objective criteria (such as gender slot allocations, age brackets e.g. 18–30, language proficiencies, or specific skills) solely as bona fide occupational requirements necessary for event execution (e.g. stage management, guest registration, crowd guidance).
- Fair & Timely Review: Organizers must review applications fairly, confirm attendance on schedule, and honor listed commitments without arbitrary last-minute cancellations.
5. Volunteer Commitments & Strict No-Show Policy
Volunteers applying for and accepted into event slots agree to the following standards:
- Binding Commitment: When a Volunteer applies for an event and is approved by the Organizer, it represents a binding operational commitment to arrive on time and perform the designated duties professionally.
- Punctuality & Conduct: Volunteers must arrive at the venue at the designated reporting time, adhere to specified dress codes, and cooperate respectfully with event coordinators.
- Strict No-Show & Late Cancellation Policy: If you are unable to attend due to an unavoidable emergency, you must withdraw your application through the app before the event cutoff time. Unexcused no-shows, last-minute dropouts, or sending unauthorized substitutes will result in heavy penalties to your reliability score and permanent ban from the Platform.
6. Volunteer Performance Accountability & Organizer's Right to Payout Adjustment
Critical Policy — Read Carefully Before Accepting Any Event
6.1 Performance Standards: Upon acceptance into an event, the Volunteer is expected to perform the assigned duties with reasonable diligence, professionalism, and in accordance with the instructions provided by the Event Organizer. The Volunteer must personally carry out the responsibilities designated to them throughout the duration of their assigned shift(s).
6.2 Grounds for Payout Deduction: The Event Organizer reserves the right to deduct a proportionate amount from the Volunteer's total agreed payout ("Efficiency Deduction") in the event of any of the following:
- Unsatisfactory Performance: The Volunteer fails to perform assigned tasks to a reasonable standard, demonstrates negligence, or does not complete the work as required.
- Unauthorized Delegation: The Volunteer delegates, sub-contracts, or asks any other person (including friends, family, or fellow volunteers) to perform their assigned duties on their behalf without the prior written or in-app consent of the Organizer.
- Event Disruption: The Volunteer's actions or omissions directly cause disruption, mismanagement, or damage to the event operations, venue property, or the experience of attendees.
- Misleading or Irrelevant Conduct: The Volunteer engages in activities unrelated to the assigned role, provides misleading information about task completion, or acts in a manner that is inconsistent with the event's objectives.
- Partial Abandonment: The Volunteer leaves the assigned post, takes extended unauthorized breaks, or completes only a fraction of the assigned shift without valid justification.
6.3 Immediate Removal from Event: In addition to payout deductions, the Event Organizer shall have the absolute right to immediately remove a Volunteer from the event premises if the Organizer reasonably determines that the Volunteer's continued presence would be detrimental to the event's operations, safety, reputation, or attendee experience. Upon removal, the Volunteer shall only be entitled to a pro-rata payout for the portion of the shift satisfactorily completed prior to removal, subject to further Efficiency Deductions as applicable.
6.4 Deduction Quantum & Transparency: The Efficiency Deduction shall be proportional to the severity of the misconduct and the extent of non-performance. The Organizer must provide a brief written or in-app explanation of the reason(s) for any deduction at the time of payout settlement. Arbitrary or discriminatory deductions without stated justification are prohibited and may be disputed through the Platform's Grievance Redressal Mechanism.
6.5 Platform-Level Consequences: In cases of repeated or severe misconduct (including but not limited to habitual poor performance, deliberate event sabotage, or persistent unauthorized delegation), EVENTO reserves the right to impose additional platform-level penalties including reduced reliability scores, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination under the Zero-Tolerance Policy (Section 9 of these Terms).
Legal Basis: This clause is enforceable under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 — Section 39 (effect of refusal or failure to perform), Section 73 (compensation for loss caused by breach of contract), and Section 74 (compensation for breach where penalty is stipulated). By accepting an event on EVENTO, the Volunteer freely consents to these terms under Section 10 of the Act.
7. Direct Payments & Financial Settlement Policy
Notice on Direct Settlements (Subject to Section 6 above):
7.1 No In-App Payment Handling: EVENTO is a coordination platform and does not collect, escrow, hold, or process monetary transactions between Organizers and Volunteers.
7.2 Direct Settlement: All stipends, volunteer payments, or out-of-pocket reimbursements agreed upon in the event listing are settled directly between the Organizer and the Volunteer through their own chosen payment channels (such as external UPI apps, bank transfers, or cash). Any Efficiency Deductions applicable under Section 6 shall be adjusted by the Organizer at the time of settlement.
7.3 Payment Tracking: EVENTO provides fields solely for the purpose of mutual record-keeping and status tracking (such as recording payment mode, payout due dates, and entering UPI transaction reference numbers). EVENTO is not a party to the financial transaction and assumes no liability for payment disputes, delays, non-payments, or banking failures.
8. Physical Safety, Damage & Complete Liability Disclaimer
Event Safety & On-Site Risk Disclaimer:
8.1 No Physical Security or Supervision: EVENTO does not organize, supervise, manage, or control physical event premises. EVENTO does not provide physical security, venue safety inspections, emergency medical services, transport, or insurance.
8.2 Independent Venue Responsibility: The Event Organizer is solely responsible for ensuring that the event venue complies with all applicable safety, fire, structural, municipal, and health regulations.
8.3 Disclaimer of Liability for Damages or Incidents: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EVENTO, its founders, mentors, and developers shall not be liable for any personal injury, illness, accident, physical damage, loss of personal property, theft, death, or any other civil or criminal incidents occurring prior to, during, or after any event listed on the Platform. All participants attend and perform tasks at their own sole risk and discretion.

EVENTO maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any abusive or illegal activity. Users agree never to engage in:
- Harassment & Misconduct: Any form of sexual harassment, unwelcome advances, hostile behavior, abusive language, discrimination, stalking, physical intimidation, or hate speech toward any volunteer, organizer, or attendee.
- Fraud & Deception: Creating deceptive or fictitious event listings, soliciting unauthorized upfront fees, engaging in identity fraud, or misrepresenting event terms.
- Unlawful Activities: Posting events involving illegal substances, hazardous environments without permits, gambling, adult entertainment, or activities violating local, state, or national laws of India.
- Platform Abuse: Attempting to reverse engineer the app, scraping platform data, bypassing security mechanisms, or manipulating ratings.
Permanent Termination: Any violation of this Zero-Tolerance Policy will result in immediate, permanent account termination and forfeiture of access, without prior warning, and may be reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities.
10. Mutual Ratings & Reviews
Following the conclusion of an event, Organizers and Volunteers may submit ratings and qualitative feedback. Reviews must reflect honest, firsthand experiences. Coercion, review blackmail, retaliation, or posting defamatory content is strictly forbidden. EVENTO reserves the right to moderate, remove, or adjust reviews that violate our policies.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EVENTO, its founders (Akash Dobariya, Piyush Thummar), affiliates, mentors, and developers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your conduct, attendance, or acts/omissions at any physical event; or (d) any dispute between you and another User.
